On a huge glowing crystal near the cave’s exit, the battered littlefolk knight flattened herself against the stone and strained to look down. It was still far too distant. All she could see was that faintly blue‑luminescent dragon ghost writhing and coiling below, flickers of gold‑red witchfire bursting from it now and then.
Standing outside the battlefield, Leif could see more clearly than those fighting inside it. She could tell the disparity between the two sides, and how it was shifting. At first she’d worried the littlefolk witch would be overpowered. But she soon noticed the dragonfire growing weaker...
