What is Carmilla: Crimson Moon about?
The setting is a castle in nineteenth-century Styria. Carmilla arrives as a guest and draws Laura’s attention. Laura’s governess distrusts the newcomer, while unexplained deaths in a nearby village raise further questions.
The creator’s game page presents this as a dark Yuri retelling of the classic novella. Attraction, suspicion, and danger are part of the premise. It is not presented as a gentle vampire romance with a guaranteed happy outcome.
If you enjoy GL because it lets you follow conflicting feelings, that setup may interest you. If you want a calm relationship without horror, read the content description first. A romantic premise does not remove the threats around the characters.
Choices change Laura’s path
The creator advertises a branching story with four endings. Choices affect corruption and loyalty meters, which influence dialogue and story events. Those are features listed for the game; do not assume that the demo contains every path or ending.
This structure asks a different kind of attention from a prose novel. You may want to choose what feels right for Laura, or explore what changes when you make another decision. Before you begin, decide whether you want to play without a guide. An ending walkthrough can reveal events you would rather discover yourself.

Try the browser demo first
Fercaren’s browser update confirms that the demo can run directly in a web browser. The same update added a Simplified Chinese option. On the itch.io page, look for the Run game button. Downloadable versions are also listed.
Use the demo to check text size, reading pace, music, and the way choices appear. These details can matter more than a feature list when you normally read ebooks. Check the save controls before you close the page; this guide has not tested whether browser progress carries over to another edition.
The Steam listing gives a planned full release date of 27 October 2026 and offers a separate demo. As of this check, the full game is not yet available there. A planned date can change, so check the store again before you arrange a reading session around it.
Check content and device support
