Outside, the five people following Yi Yi were clearly taken aback. They hadn’t expected Yi Yi to come out so easily, but they quickly followed her. As Yi Yi walked about ten steps away from the exchange point, the two leading male alphas surrounded her.
“Hey, pretty girl, are you alone? Want us to take you home?” A man with yellow teeth grinned at Yi Yi, and the other four with him were eager to join in.
“Sure, let’s find a quiet place,” Yi Yi smiled at them, still looking relaxed.
“Wow, you’re quite something. Alright, let’s head to the small woods behind this building. We’ll show you the scenery, you’ll love it,” the yellow-toothed man said with a lewd smile, causing the others to laugh.
The yellow-toothed man tried to reach out to touch Yi Yi, but she deftly avoided him. “What’s the rush? Aren’t we going to the woods?” The yellow-toothed man chuckled, “True, let’s go, guys, we’ve got a treat.”
“This woman is really something, too bad she’s not an Omega. Omega bodies are softer,” a man with a scar near his eye said while eyeing Yi Yi.
The yellow-toothed man kicked him, “Be grateful for what you have, don’t be picky. You’ll be last.”
“Come on, man, let’s talk about it,” the scarred man replied.
Yi Yi listened to their conversation and sneered. She wanted to go to the woods because she found it troublesome. She didn’t plan to hold back against these scumbags.
Yi Yi walked faster, making the men laugh. The yellow-haired one made vulgar comments, “In a hurry, are we? What’s the rush?”
“Haha, this woman is really eager,” the scarred man added.
Yi Yi ignored them and led the group to the small woods in about five minutes.
The yellow-toothed man grinned at Yi Yi, showing his yellow teeth, “Alright, I’ll go first. The others are waiting in line.”
Yi Yi’s smile disappeared. She put the medicine box in her pocket and walked straight toward the yellow-toothed man.
The yellow-toothed man didn’t expect Yi Yi to be so forward. Usually, when they did these things, the women or male Omegas would run away screaming. No one had ever approached them like Yi Yi did.
He was about to make another lewd comment when suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his face. The next thing he knew, he was in excruciating pain, and when he regained consciousness, his back was burning. He heard a few cracking sounds from his body, and a warm flow surged from his chest. By the time he hit the ground, he was almost unconscious.
The tree behind him broke from the impact, and he didn’t even have the strength to lift his head. Within seconds, he closed his eyes.
The other four were stunned, some even panicked. The scarred man, trying to muster courage, said, “Damn, let’s fight her. Don’t be afraid, she just got lucky. Let’s all go at once, don’t chicken out.”
“Get her!” The male alphas encouraged each other and charged at Yi Yi.
Yi Yi’s expression didn’t change. It was better if they all came at once; it saved her time. The area was secluded, so she didn’t need to hold back. As they rushed at her, Yi Yi moved faster than them, landing two punches that sent two men flying. Like the yellow-toothed man, they only stopped when they broke the trees they hit. Their bones shattered, and they spat blood before dying.
The scarred man and another male alpha were terrified. They didn’t dare face Yi Yi head-on. The scarred man ran, shouting, “Damn, this woman is something else. Split up, or else…” He didn’t finish his sentence before he felt a crack in his neck, which was twisted and broken. The other male alpha didn’t escape either, as Yi Yi kicked him from behind, sending him flying into a tree, breaking it.
Yi Yi looked at the useless scumbags and smirked. Even if dozens more came, they wouldn’t be enough for her. Did they really think they could bully her with such little skill? She found them laughable. She took out the allergy medicine from her pocket and leisurely walked back to tent D982. Along the way, there were still people watching her, either openly following to find out where she lived or secretly observing her.
Yi Yi didn’t care. Ten minutes later, she returned to tent 982.
Chen Wan saw Yi Yi return and quickly asked, “How was it? Any trouble?” Yi Yi smiled at Chen Wan and handed over the medicine, “There was, but it’s all sorted. Don’t worry.”
“That’s good.” Chen Wan knew Yi Yi’s strength, so she didn’t ask further. She turned to Jiang Yanxin and said, “Yanxin, the medicine is back. Let Wanning take it before sleeping. Allergies aren’t a joke.”
“Okay.” Jiang Yanxin responded while gently touching Jiang Wanning’s face, softly calling her sister, “Wanning? Wake up, it’s your sister. Wake up and take the medicine before sleeping, okay?”
Jiang Wanning, in her sleep, seemed to hear her sister’s voice. Her mind was foggy, as the fever medicine wasn’t a miracle cure and couldn’t bring down the fever immediately, so she wasn’t fully conscious.
Jiang Wanning slowly opened her eyes, and upon seeing her sister, she was visibly stunned. Then, in a somewhat dazed voice, she said, “Sister? You’re still here? This dream is so long.”
She smiled and continued, “But it’s nice, I can see you again. It’s been so long since we last met.”
“This isn’t a dream. You’ll know once your fever is gone. Come on, Yi Yi brought back allergy medicine for you. Take it before sleeping, okay?” Jiang Yanxin continued to coax her somewhat delirious sister.
Jiang Wanning shook her head, “I can’t take the medicine, sis. I’d rather die like this than be entangled with those beasts. Once the bumps on my body and face are gone, it’ll be the day I go to hell.”
Jiang Yanxin’s eyes reddened at her sister’s words, but she held back her tears and coaxed her, “Didn’t you just say this is a dream? In a dream, taking medicine is fine. Sister wants to see you as you were.”
Jiang Wanning, feeling dizzy, didn’t notice anything wrong and really thought she was still dreaming. She reached out to take the pills from Jiang Yanxin’s hand and swallowed them with bottled water.
While taking the medicine, Jiang Wanning wondered why the medicine in her dream tasted so bitter. Her body was too weak, and with months of malnutrition, she couldn’t withstand the illness and soon fell asleep again.
Chen Wan felt a bit relieved seeing Jiang Wanning take the medicine. She picked up Yang Yang, who was quietly watching the adults talk without making a fuss, holding onto Chen Wan’s clothes with her little hands.
Chen Wan kissed Yang Yang’s cheek and gently coaxed, “Once we pick up grandma, grandpa, and aunt, we’ll leave here, okay?”
“Okay, Mommy, I don’t like it here. I like cars,” Yang Yang said in a soft voice, snuggling against Chen Wan. She found the people here strange, many seemed mean and bad.
“I don’t like it here either. Once we find them, we’ll leave. Can you wait a little longer, Yang Yang?” Chen Wan squeezed Yang Yang’s little hand.
Yang Yang nodded obediently.
Chen Wan, feeling bored, played with Yang Yang’s chubby little hand. It was like a stress ball, soft and bouncy, very satisfying to squeeze.
Yang Yang didn’t know her mommy was playing with her, thinking she was trying to make her happy, and smiled at Chen Wan.
The seventy-year-old woman, who had been resting, was now awake. She lived with her son and husband. Her health wasn’t good, so her husband and son didn’t let her do odd jobs. They took care of earning points. They weren’t wealthy, but they lived better than Jiang Wanning’s group.
The old woman, seeing the cute little one in Chen Wan’s arms, smiled and asked, “How old is this little one?”
Chen Wan squeezed Yang Yang’s hand and smiled, “The grandma is asking you, how old are you?”
Yang Yang held up three fingers with her left hand and bent the index finger of her right hand halfway, saying in a sweet voice, “I’m three and a half!”
“So sweet,” the old woman sighed, thinking about the current world and wondering if the little one could grow up healthy.
While Chen Wan chatted with the old woman, there was a commotion outside the tent, getting closer.
“Brother Kai, they’re in the tent. They say they’re Jiang Wanning’s sisters, four women and a little Yang. I tell you, those women are all beauties, not worse than Jiang Wanning.”
“Yang Feng, you’re finally useful. If it’s true, you can follow me from now on,” Brother Kai chuckled, clearly in a good mood.
As they reached the entrance of tent 982, Brother Kai wrinkled his nose in disgust, “What the hell is that stench? It’s unbearable. Fan it away, how can I go in this pigsty?”
“Right away, I’ll fan it,” Yang Feng quickly obliged.
But it was useless. Brother Kai had been here before to trouble Jiang Wanning. He was just being pretentious, enjoying the feeling of being flattered, like a boss making subordinates revise a document multiple times only to use the first draft. He knew no one listened to his speech, but he enjoyed the power trip.
After Yang Feng fanned for a while, Brother Kai pretended to frown and stepped into tent 982.
