The carriage curtain lifted. In the narrow gap appeared Princess Milly’s face, cold as ice. She glanced at Leif with eyes flat and emotionless, then said,
“My father really did send me a very capable knight. Now he’s finally getting what he wanted.”
From her tone, it was impossible to tell whether she was glad or resentful about being taken away.
