When Tang Muxi returned, night had already fallen.
The moon rose in the east, and the densely scattered stars twinkled like a vast ocean, as beautiful as a fairyland.
The Heavenly Mystery Realm was not a man-made space, but had formed naturally a long, long time ago.
Therefore, the stars and the golden crow within the realm were all real.
It was just a pity that the power was chaotic, so changes in the weather from rain to sunshine could occur several times in a single day.
Today was peculiar, as it had been sunny since morning.
Holding several spiritual plants in her hand, Tang Muxi saw Jiang Yin still meditating motionlessly, while the little fox on the other side was so hungry it was dizzy.
Seeing her, it immediately pounced over, crying out for food.
Tang Muxi couldn’t help but laugh, “Are you two just waiting for me to come back and cook? Aren’t you afraid that I might not come back all night?”
She had been out for at least three or four hours, and it was impressive how long they could endure their hunger.
The little snow fox, upon hearing this, unhappily glanced at Jiang Yin, turned around, and with its tail flicking restlessly, complained, “She didn’t cook.”
In reality, the little snow fox was afraid of Jiang Yin and didn’t dare to ask her to cook while she was resting.
Tang Muxi was indeed better, gentle and easy to bully, as long as she didn’t turn into her fierce form, she was completely at the fox’s mercy.
Unaware of the little snow fox’s thoughts, Tang Muxi just found the little creature adorable and indulgently stroked it.
She had found a cave not far from here earlier, with a clear lake nearby, so she took them there, settled them in, and then started cooking.
She wanted to eat proper rice today and cooked with great care.
She even brought out pots and stoves, clanging and banging as she stir-fried.
A dish of mushrooms and meat, a green vegetable dish, and tofu cooked with fish were all laid out on the table, rich and delicious.
White steam wafted up, carrying an enticing aroma that spread continuously.
But Tang Muxi felt something was missing, so she casually added some roasted meat she had prepared earlier, only to realize she might have exposed herself.
The little snow fox widened its eyes, jumped onto the table, sniffed the roasted meat, and then looked at Tang Muxi in shock, “You lied!”
This meat was exactly what they had eaten last time in the cold pond cave.
The little snow fox remembered clearly that Tang Muxi had said there was none left.
It turned out it wasn’t gone, but secretly hidden.
Caught in her lie, Tang Muxi was embarrassed and chuckled, scratching her nose, trying to cover it up, “No, no, we really did finish it that day, I didn’t even get enough to eat, these were just in case.”
Seeing that the little snow fox was unmoved and even slightly angry, she quickly coaxed, “Oh, I had no choice, otherwise I might not have been able to come out, and with my sister being so weak, it would definitely have been more bad than good. Besides, didn’t I save you too? Don’t be angry, I won’t let you go hungry again, okay?”
The little snow fox then reluctantly accepted her explanation.
But Jiang Yin was different.
She had been eating indifferently, but when she heard Tang Muxi call herself weak and likely to encounter more misfortune than fortune, her face darkened immediately.
“I’m really sorry, it’s all because your sister is so useless, holding you back.”
Jiang Yin sneered, a chilling coldness in her eyes almost freezing someone to death.
Even though Tang Muxi had become more resistant to cold these days, she still felt extremely chilly at that moment, even her speech trembled.
“Ha, haha…”
Tang Muxi laughed dryly, swallowing her saliva, “No, I just misspoke, sister is very capable, not holding anyone back.”
Jiang Yin was unappreciative, her face still cold but pretending to be sisterly, she personally picked up a piece of tofu and put it in Tang Muxi’s bowl, “Not at all, you flatter me too much, without you, your sister would probably be just a dry bone by now. This piece of tofu is my way of saying thanks…”
But just as she finished saying thanks, the chopsticks trembled coincidentally breaking the tofu.
Jiang Yin coldly said, “Sorry, sister. I’ve been too injured, my hand shook a bit, you don’t mind, right?”
This was clearly not gratitude but intimidation!
Tang Muxi believed that if she dared to say she minded, her fate wouldn’t be much better than the tofu’s.
“No, I don’t mind…”
Tang Muxi shivered, her speech stuttering, her heart pounding fast.
Jiang Yin glanced at her blandly, finally not pressing further, and quietly continued eating.
A meal that should have been uneventful became fraught with crisis because of a piece of meat that shouldn’t have been there.
After finishing the meal, Tang Muxi was sweating coldly, her clothes somewhat damp.
