She knew a bit about so‑called master–servant contracts. On this vast Tongxuan Continent, people would sometimes, for the sake of a chance opportunity or simply to survive, willingly sign such contracts with others—becoming a subordinate beneath someone else, a servant at another’s beck and call.
The most common way to sign was a blood contract. Once a master–servant contract was sealed with blood, the servant could not harbor any resistance or resentment toward the master. Otherwise, they would suffer backlash from the contract: at best, unbearable...
