Knock, knock, knock.
The soft knocking, together with a shaft of blinding sunlight stabbing into her eyes, pulled Fia up from deep sleep. She rolled over out of habit, intending to laze in bed a little longer, but the faint medicinal fragrance tickling her nose quickly cleared her mind.
Today’s “bed” felt even softer and warmer than yesterday’s.
It even had the silky smoothness and warm scent of skin.
…Wait, no.
That was Claire.
She had no idea when she’d fallen asleep last night—had all of that just been a dream?
Lying on her side, Fia’s eyes flew open....
