The conference hall was a square hundred meters to a side, and in its center a massive crystal, so large it would take several adults to encircle it with their arms, was slowly floating in midair.
The long table that should have stood in the middle of the room had been removed earlier. Now only a few scattered chairs and a single writing desk remained. Against the hall’s grand decorations, the sparse furnishings made the place feel desolate and empty.
Not everyone felt that way, though. The Witch’s Heart Core—also known as Laplace’s Demon—certainly did not.
