“Raaaargh—!” The dragon wasn’t about to just watch Chen Xing gather energy.
It kept firing energy beams at her, but she was completely unharmed.
The blasts hit the fireball, but didn’t even make a ripple.
It was just a simple fireball spell, but with unlimited mana poured into it, the fireball looked like a meteor from outer space.
Behind it, Chen Xing was just a tiny black dot.
“Die!” With a flick of her finger, the fireball seemed to fall slowly—only because it was so huge.
Even though it was moving fast, it looked slow to the eye.
The dragon tried to escape, but its body was completely pinned down by the pressure radiating from the fireball.
The only pity was that the dragon didn’t have a soul, so it couldn’t feel fear.
The fireball landed on the dragon, and the spot it touched instantly vaporized.
Compared to the fireball, the dragon’s body was still way too small.
There was no explosion.
The fireball just smashed straight into the ground, melting all the rock and matter it touched.
The dragon was already gone.
“Uh… did I overdo it a little?” Watching the massive fireball slowly sink into the ground, Chen Xing thought that if this thing exploded, this whole area would probably be wiped out.
Just as she was thinking that, a red light suddenly burst from the fireball, and in the next second, the whole world was swallowed by a crimson glow.
A brilliant mushroom cloud rose up between heaven and earth.
A wave of scorching heat rushed over.
Chen Xing instinctively covered her pretty face with her hands.
When everything cleared, the ground beneath her feet was gone, replaced by a massive crater dozens of miles wide.
At the very bottom, lava was bubbling up.
“That was definitely overkill.
Good thing there’s no one else alive here, or I’d be in big trouble.”
Letting out a long breath, Chen Xing couldn’t help but marvel at the power of a witch.
Such a basic spell could have this much destructive force—no wonder witches were said to be able to end the world.
And right now, she was still far from her peak.
She didn’t even know any advanced spells, and her power was less than half of what it used to be.
But even so, she could still destroy a city with just a finger.
They say great power can make you lose yourself.
It’s like if an ordinary person got Superman’s powers—they’d probably turn into Homelander in a few days.
Destruction did give Chen Xing, as a witch, a rush.
But the thrill faded as quickly as it came, leaving only emptiness.
She looked at her hand and muttered, “It really doesn’t last at all.
If I wanted to keep feeling that rush, I’d have to keep blowing things up, huh? That sounds so boring.
If the world’s gone, what would I even do for fun? I really don’t get why all those villains are so obsessed with destroying the world.”
Chen Xing definitely didn’t want to destroy the world.
She’d lose way too many interesting things that way.
“I wonder how Little Dragon Girl and the others are doing.”
The trial had ended successfully.
Not long after she defeated the ice dragon, a mirror of ice appeared where she’d arrived.
Without thinking much, Chen Xing flew straight into the mirror.
Things were going pretty smoothly for Little Dragon Girl.
As the world’s most powerful magic dragon, she had ninety-nine percent absolute magic immunity, so she could easily handle those magical constructs.
But things were rough for Freya.
“Dragon?” Staring at the giant dragon in front of her, Freya’s eyes were cold.
She seemed to be mistaking this dragon for something else.
“I’ll kill you!” Freya didn’t bother drawing her sword.
She took a step forward, and in the next second, the snow beneath her feet exploded.
With a powerful whirlwind, Freya leapt right in front of the dragon.
She poured all her strength into a slap.
The dragon’s head, several meters high, spun a full three-sixty, and its massive body was sent flying.
It crashed to the ground, causing a huge tremor.
Its neck was broken, but it didn’t seem to matter.
The dragon shook its head and got back up.
This time, Freya drew her sword.
A sharp wave of sword energy swept out, slicing the dragon’s body in half.
But then something weird happened.
The ice and snow around them started gathering again.
The dragon, which had been cut in two, actually turned into two dragons as the ice and snow repaired it! If you didn’t destroy the whole body at once, it could regenerate! This was extremely unfair to warrior-type fighters, but that was exactly what the queen intended.
Warrior-type cultivators usually didn’t have strong magic power.
Their mana was much lower than a mage’s, which is why they focused on training their bodies.
But that didn’t fit the queen’s requirements.
This trial was basically designed to favor mages.
Freya had no magic at all right now.
In midair, she couldn’t control her body.
The giant dragon’s claw came at her, and she was swatted away like a ping-pong ball.
She shot into the snow like a cannonball.
The dragon opened its mouth, energy gathering in its throat.
A dazzling beam shot out, but suddenly two flashes of cold light swept out from the snow.
The magical energy was split in two by the cold light, branching off in different directions.
The beams shot past Freya on both sides, causing huge explosions and clouds of dust.
“What a pain.” Freya tidied her messy hair, tied it into a ponytail, and charged again.
Her body turned into a blur, sprinting at high speed without leaving a single footprint in the snow.
“I’m a god, so it’s one thing for a witch to bully me, but some magical construct dares to act up in front of me?” In an instant, a flurry of light swallowed the dragon’s massive body.
The light vanished as quickly as it appeared, and when it was gone, the dragon’s body froze.
The next moment, it started to fall apart, breaking into countless tiny pieces.
No matter how strong a magical construct was, it still had mana circuits inside.
As long as those circuits were intact, the magic could keep working, which meant the ice dragon could keep absorbing ice and snow to regenerate.
But what Freya had just cut was its mana circuit.
She didn’t know exactly where it was hidden in the body, but as long as she chopped it up finely enough, she was bound to hit it.
The dragon’s huge body turned into drifting snow and disappeared.
Freya coolly sheathed her sword.
As a saint of the gods, she was skilled in both magic and martial arts.
Even though she had no magic now, her martial arts skills were still top-notch.
She might not be able to beat a witch, but dealing with these little monsters was a piece of cake.
In the end, as expected, all three of them—Chen Xing and her friends—passed the trial.
And of course, Chen Xing’s performance caught the queen’s attention.
Every ice dragon was created by her magic.
She hadn’t been watching their battles, but the queen sensed that one of the dragons had been destroyed less than a minute after the fight started.
That had never happened before.
