Eighth Sister already knew what her fate would be. Like her older sisters, she would eventually be turned after the vampires fed on her.
She was the weakest of the sisters. Even the youngest was slightly stronger than her, so Eighth had no confidence that she could resist her fate. After all, the powerful older sisters had already fallen and become vampires. What could someone as weak as her possibly resist?
She had resigned herself to it, but she still wanted to make one last stand. At the very least, she did not want so many people biting her.
