Bai Ling arrived at the dorm floor that Zitong had mentioned earlier.
After getting the key to room 801 from the dorm manager, she went straight to dorm 801.
When she walked in, it wasn’t the gloomy, smoky place she’d been told about.
Instead, it was spotless, not a speck of dust on the floor, and the air was filled with traces of magical elements.
Clearly, someone had just used a cleaning spell here.
The air smelled nice too—probably thanks to an air purification spell.
Yue Xin dropped Bai Ling off at the dorm door and left to find the butler to help move her things.
Bai Ling stepped inside and finally got a good look at the dorm.
To the left of the entrance was the bathroom, and to the right by the window were two bunk beds—obviously a double room.
Across from the beds was a wardrobe, and next to it stood a big full-length mirror.
She walked to the window and stared at the sky, falling into a daze again.
‘After all these years, I’ve finally made it here, finally come to your side.
So no matter what trouble you run into, as long as I’m behind you, I won’t let anything bad happen.
Because I’m here now, and you… you’re under my protection.’ Standing by the window, letting the sunset’s glow wash over her, she looked like a goddess bathed in the afterglow.
It wasn’t until Yue Xin and the butler Li came in with some supplies that Bai Ling snapped out of it.
Even though storage bracelets could hold all these supplies, they were nearly impossible to get.
Not even the Bai family had one, because making a storage bracelet required a mage who could inscribe spatial laws onto it, and spatial mages evolved from the rarest wind mages.
To have an affinity for spatial magic, you had to be at least an S-rank wind mage and experience the spatial laws carried by the wind while evolving your magic.
Only by understanding that could you become a spatial mage.
There were exceptions, though—some people awakened as spatial mages right from the start, but that was extremely rare.
Spatial mages were already few and far between.
Bai Ling had read in the Bai family’s study about someone who awakened as a spatial mage and later became invincible across the continent with their spatial magic.
That alone showed how powerful spatial mages were.
And those who could become one were even rarer.
So, even the well-established Bai family didn’t have a single storage bracelet.
That showed just how precious they were—definitely not something ordinary people could own.
Yue Xin came over to Bai Ling.
After telling the butler to put everything away, she was ready to say goodbye, since they had to hurry home—it was getting late.
“Xiao Ling, we’re heading back now.
Take care of yourself here, don’t let yourself get wronged.
If anything comes up, you can go find your sister.
I heard she’s got quite a status at this academy!” Yue Xin was still a mother at heart, always concerned about her daughter.
Truly, parents everywhere are the same.
“Yeah, I know.
I’ll take care of myself.” Bai Ling answered honestly, though she was thinking, ‘Is that so-called sister of mine really that strong here? Doesn’t seem like it, but if Mom says so, she can’t be too bad.
I’ll see if I can find her later.
The academy’s huge, it’s not like she can run away.’ Come to think of it, their family really was on the same wavelength about this!
“Alright, then we’re off.” Yue Xin sounded a little reluctant.
“Okay, got it.
Be careful on your way back.” Bai Ling waved goodbye, feeling a bit reluctant herself.
“Mm!” In the end, Yue Xin left with the butler Li.
Bai Ling watched them go, not looking away until their figures disappeared from sight.
She looked at the supplies, sighed, and said, “Guess I should start unpacking.” She was about to get started when the door suddenly opened from the outside—clearly not Yue Xin or the butler coming back.
A girl walked in, looking about the same age as Bai Ling.
When the girl saw someone inside, she froze for a second.
Looking at the beautiful girl standing by the window, she thought, ‘She’s so cute, she can’t be a bad person, right?’ Then she asked, a little confused, “Um, excuse me, who are you?”
Bai Ling sized up the girl in front of her.
Her outfit was simple—a black ponytail tied casually behind her head, emerald-green eyes, a delicate nose, refined features, and a smiling face that made her seem really approachable.
Her chest wasn’t huge but not small either—just enough to fit in a hand.
Her long, shapely legs and perfect figure gave her a heroic vibe.
The white girls’ school shirt made her look pure, and the black collar outlined her slender shoulders, highlighting the smooth, fair skin of her neck.
The black bow at her chest matched her slim figure perfectly, bringing out her gentle aura.
Clearly, she was wearing the academy’s uniform.
Then Bai Ling replied politely, “Hi, I’m one of the residents here.
My name’s Bai Ling, nice to meet you!” In front of strangers, Bai Ling had the air of a noble lady—calm and composed, her voice soft and full of warmth.
“Huh? Oh! So you’re my roommate! Hi, I’m Lin Qiufeng, nice to meet you!” Lin Qiufeng winked playfully at Bai Ling as she spoke, walking in.
After the introductions, Bai Ling started unpacking her things.
Seeing Bai Ling busy, the helpful Lin Qiufeng naturally came over to lend a hand.
She was the active type, never one to sit still.
“Let me help you!” Lin Qiufeng walked over and smiled at Bai Ling.
“Thanks.” Bai Ling smiled back.
“No problem, we’re classmates, and roommates too! We should help each other out, so don’t be shy.
If you have any questions, just ask me.
If I know the answer, I’ll tell you everything I know.” Lin Qiufeng patted her not-so-big chest in assurance.
“Pfft!” Bai Ling couldn’t help but laugh.
Seeing Lin Qiufeng’s earnest look was just too cute, so she couldn’t hold it in.
“Huh? What are you laughing at? What’s so funny?” Lin Qiufeng looked at Bai Ling, totally confused about why she suddenly started laughing.
“It’s nothing.
I just think you’re really cute, Lin Qiufeng.” Bai Ling tried to hold back her laughter, but her trembling body gave her away.
The whole day passed quietly like that, filled with laughter as she spent it with Lin Qiufeng.
