“Awake? Is there anywhere else you’re feeling uncomfortable? You’ve been sleeping all day today.” Yi Yi asked as she saw Jiang Wanning looking at her.
Jiang Wanning was still a bit dazed and reached out to touch her forehead, but the next moment, her wrist was gently held.
“You’re still on an IV drip, what do you want to do? I’ll help you.” Yi Yi, worried that Jiang Wanning might dislodge the IV, gently placed her wrist back and helped straighten the blanket.
Jiang Wanning felt something was off.
Who was this woman taking care of her? She pinched her thigh with her free hand, and the pain almost brought tears to her eyes.
“This isn’t a dream? Ouch, that hurts.” Jiang Wanning had pinched herself a bit too hard, and the pain made her gasp.
Yi Yi found the confused human girl amusing and smiled at Jiang Wanning.
“Of course, it’s not a dream.
I’m a friend of your sister.
Your sister and Chen Wan came to pick you up.”
“My sister is here? Where are they? And my parents?” Jiang Wanning bombarded her with questions, trying to sit up, but with one hand on the IV, she could only prop herself up slightly with the other.
Seeing her struggle, Yi Yi supported Jiang Wanning’s back with one hand and her legs with the other, lifting her slightly and placing a pillow behind her.
“Leaning back will be more comfortable.”
Jiang Wanning froze, her face turning red from Yi Yi’s sudden closeness.
Even after she was comfortably leaning against the pillow, her ears were still red as if they were about to bleed.
She glanced at Yi Yi, trying to reassure herself that the woman was just taking care of a patient, and whispered a thank you.
“Thank you.”
Yi Yi chuckled, noticing the blush on Jiang Wanning’s face, and while analyzing with her light brain why the girl was blushing, she answered Jiang Wanning’s earlier questions.
“They all went to rest.
I’m a night owl and don’t sleep much at night, so I volunteered to take care of you.”
Jiang Wanning was mostly convinced but still puzzled about why they were here.
This place was so luxurious, a stark contrast to the tent they had been staying in.
While Jiang Wanning was lost in thought, Yi Yi’s light brain analysis concluded that human emotions were too complex, and blushing could be caused by many factors, such as heat, constipation, anger, or shyness.
The analysis suggested that Jiang Wanning was shy.
Yi Yi straightforwardly asked, “Are you shy? Your face is so red.”
Jiang Wanning, who had been deep in thought, blushed even more at Yi Yi’s question.
She glanced at Yi Yi and quickly changed the subject.
“So, how did we end up here? Where is this place?”
“This is Area A of the base.
Things are a bit complicated, but if you’re not sleepy, I can explain it to you slowly.”
Yi Yi noticed that the human girl had avoided her question, understanding it as a typical human avoidance tactic when faced with questions they didn’t want to answer.
However, Yi Yi was still excited.
She had been bored at this base and hadn’t had much chance to talk to anyone, so she was glad to have someone to chat with.
Jiang Wanning wanted to know what had happened today and didn’t want Yi Yi to ask why she was blushing again.
The reason was simple: she was shy.
The woman had held her waist earlier, and even though she knew it was to take care of her, it still made Jiang Wanning, who had always been single, feel embarrassed.
“Sure, I slept all day and feel much better now.
I’ll listen to your story.
By the way, I don’t know your name yet.
I’m Jiang Wanning.” Jiang Wanning looked at Yi Yi, feeling that the woman seemed quite happy.
“I’m Yi Yi, and I know your name.” Yi Yi smiled and began, “I’ll start from when we drove to the base.
We had just handed over the car when we encountered trouble in line…”
Yi Yi started talking non-stop, not realizing how her chatty nature contrasted with her bright appearance.
Jiang Wanning, having slept all day and feeling better after the medication and IV, listened intently to Yi Yi’s story.
But the more she listened, the more it seemed off.
Chen Wan and the others had dealt with a group of people while in line, and then another group upon entering the base.
The story became even more unbelievable when Yi Yi mentioned that Xiang Jiawei had been dealt with.
Could Chen Wan be that powerful? And Qin Ke too? The day’s events were being described in such an extraordinary way by the woman in front of her.
Yi Yi could tell from Jiang Wanning’s expression that she didn’t believe her and smiled as she continued, “It’s all true.
If you don’t believe me, you can ask your sister and parents tomorrow morning.
They saw it all with their own eyes.”
Jiang Wanning nodded noncommittally.
She didn’t fully believe it and would definitely ask tomorrow.
The story sounded too fantastical, like something out of a pre-apocalypse novel.
But now she faced a new problem: she really needed to use the bathroom, and with her family not around, she felt embarrassed to ask the woman in front of her for help.
Yi Yi noticed Jiang Wanning’s face turning red again and, tired of analyzing, automatically assumed it was shyness.
She thought young human girls just liked to be shy.
“Are you shy again?” Yi Yi was puzzled by why humans liked to be shy so much.
They were shy about talking, undressing, and even kissing.
What was the big deal? As an android, she didn’t get shy easily.
Jiang Wanning was struggling, having slept all day and drunk porridge in the afternoon, followed by an IV drip.
She really couldn’t hold it any longer.
She looked at Yi Yi with a pleading expression.
“Can you call my sister for me? Or my mom?”
“At this hour, they should all be asleep.
Today was a thrilling day for them.
Let them rest well.
If you need anything, just tell me.
We’re all on the same side, no need to be polite.” Yi Yi smiled warmly at Jiang Wanning.
Jiang Wanning was almost in tears.
It wasn’t about being polite, but she blushed and bit her lip before speaking.
“I need to use the bathroom.
My stomach feels uncomfortable.”
Yi Yi stood up, reaching for the IV bag while speaking to Jiang Wanning.
“You should have said so earlier.
I’ll hold the bag for you.
Come on, get up carefully, I’ll support you.”
Jiang Wanning looked at Yi Yi’s outstretched hand and resignedly placed her free hand in it, allowing Yi Yi to help her up.
She was in a bit of a bind, with one hand on the IV making it difficult to put on shoes, and her shoes were dirty, lace-up sneakers.
Yi Yi, holding the IV bag, followed Jiang Wanning’s gaze and understood what she was thinking.
She put the bag back and brought over a pair of slippers from the room, smiling as she said, “Wear the slippers.
This villa is well-equipped, it has everything.”
Jiang Wanning didn’t expect Yi Yi to be so considerate, understanding what she was thinking.
She blushed and thanked her.
“Thank you.”
“No need to thank me.
I told you, we’re on the same side.
You’ve thanked me so many times tonight.
Come on, I’ll help you up.”
Jiang Wanning was about to reach out when Yi Yi’s arm wrapped around her waist, helping her stand up.
She knew it was Yi Yi’s arm behind her, but it still made her blush.
She thought Yi Yi would just pull her up, not hold her waist, and now the arm was still there.
Yi Yi, an android who had never been in a relationship, didn’t understand the concept of taking advantage of someone.
She was just worried that Jiang Wanning might still be dizzy from the fever and wanted to make sure she could stand on her own.
“Are you okay? Do you feel dizzy standing like this?” Yi Yi asked, slightly lowering her gaze.
She was only a few centimeters taller than Jiang Wanning.
Jiang Wanning felt her face heat up even more when Yi Yi spoke.
The position they were in made it seem like she was being held in Yi Yi’s arms. They were so close that she could feel Yi Yi’s warm breath.
Jiang Wanning quickly replied, flustered, “I’m not dizzy.
I can walk on my own.”
Yi Yi chuckled at the girl’s soft voice.
In the RV, Chen Wan was afraid of her wife, Qin Ke was cold, and Jiang Yanxin had a cool personality too.
But her sister was quite sweet, with a gentle and soft demeanor, the kind of girl who seemed easygoing and kind-hearted.
Yi Yi liked girls with such good temperaments, as it meant she could chat with them freely.
Yi Yi let go, holding the IV bag high as she and Jiang Wanning entered the bathroom.
Jiang Wanning’s neck was flushed red, but Yi Yi didn’t mind.
She found a towel rack above the toilet and hung the IV bag there, then turned to Jiang Wanning.
“Can you manage on your own? Do you need help?”
Jiang Wanning realized what she meant and quickly shook her head.
“No, I can do it myself.”
Yi Yi saw her blush again and smiled, reminding her, “Call me when you’re done.
I’ll help you with the bag, or it might dislodge.”
“Okay.” Jiang Wanning replied softly.
Yi Yi nodded and left the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
Jiang Wanning didn’t know why, but her heart was racing.
Thinking about Yi Yi helping her to the bathroom made her feel even more embarrassed.
She hadn’t showered in half a month, and her hair must be greasy.
Yi Yi had seen her in this state, and she wondered what impression she had left.
It wasn’t her fault; she liked being clean but didn’t have the conditions to do so.
The young girl, lost in thought, finished her business and felt embarrassed again.
She was troubling Yi Yi too much, but she couldn’t stay in the bathroom forever.
Finally, she blushed and called out, “Yi Yi, I’m done.”
“Okay, I’m coming in.” Yi Yi asked again, knowing that using the bathroom was a private matter for humans.
“Mm.”
Hearing Jiang Wanning’s response, Yi Yi entered the bathroom, helped the girl with the IV bag, and supported her back to bed.
“It’ll take about half an hour more.
If you’re sleepy, go back to sleep.
I’ll remove the needle later.”
“I’m not sleepy.” Jiang Wanning buried her face in the blanket, occasionally glancing at Yi Yi.
Yi Yi noticed and chuckled, asking, “What’s up? Curious about me? If there’s anything you want to know, I’ll tell you, okay?”
“No curiosity.” Jiang Wanning, caught in the act, blushed and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.
But perhaps because her body was still weak, she soon fell asleep for real, not even noticing when the needle was removed.
Yi Yi, who didn’t need to sleep, decided to keep an eye on Chen Wan’s sister, ensuring she was okay so they wouldn’t worry.
She left only a bedside lamp on and sat in the chair, bored but vigilant.
When Jiang Wanning opened her eyes in the morning, she saw Yi Yi sitting on the chair by the bed, staring blankly at her, looking as if she hadn’t slept all night.
