The sun slowly climbed over the horizon, its warm light spilling across the earth. A few sparrows perched on the branches outside, chirping noisily without pause.
Guan Fusha sat at the edge of the bed, looking at Taohua lying there. Her gaze was so tender it seemed it could melt.
She reached out and covered Taohua’s cheek with her hand, the pad of her thumb gently caressing her skin. A faint trace of sorrow settled between her brows.
It had already been seven days, and her junior sister still hadn’t woken up.
