Although Blossom lay in the center of the Empire, the land between it and the Empire’s northern border was completely flat. No great mountain range stood in the way of the cold air, so autumn in Blossom was exceptionally chilly. Heavy snow in November was nothing unusual. If someone rose during the night, they could even hear the faint whisper of snow settling onto the ground—a silver world they could “see” without using their eyes.
Overnight, Blossom went from bleak autumn straight into winter. Snow blanketed every corner of the city. Everywhere...
