Inside the magnificent great hall, two young girls were walking at a brisk pace.
Along the palace corridor, every few steps there was a huge white‑gridded floor‑to‑ceiling window. In daytime, the brilliant sunlight lit up every corner of the hallway; even each individual fiber on the carpet stood out in sharp relief. The air was dustless, the ornaments on both walls opulent. The atmosphere was so stately one hardly dared to raise their voice.
If you counted the knights standing along one side of the corridor, just looking from afar would be enough to make an ordinary person tremble.
