The apprentice witches quickly scattered into formation. Even without Latania’s command, they all instinctively chose the most efficient spell, “Falling Rocks.”
This first-circle spell cost almost no mana, yet it was brutally effective against monsters climbing the walls. Even rocks no bigger than a washbasin could crush three or four fire-marked frogs in an instant. Some of the stronger apprentices could even knock two-meter-tall lava urchins straight off the wall with a single cast.
As for Latania and the other full witches, they had already spread out to more distant sections of the ramparts, helping take the pressure off...
