In the vast chamber, the crystal housing Laplace’s Demon shone with a ghostly blue light, washing the originally dazzling white hall in a veil of mystery. Only Laplace’s Demon knew this glow was the sign of it using magic.
Whenever no one was around, Laplace’s Demon would study souls. If anyone entered the hall, it would immediately fall silent like a lifeless object, letting the witches control it as they pleased. As an immobile “dead thing” confined to this underground hall, it understood its weakness...
