Dong Enyu had been captured and taken to the cabin for two days.
During these two days, she was drugged at every meal.
Besides the mild sedatives in the mineral water, Yong Le also forced her to take half a narcotic pill.
This feeling was terrifying; her mind was clear, but her body was out of control, like a paralyzed person needing Yong Le to take care of her daily needs, including bathing, eating, and even using the bathroom… She had enough.
This humiliation was too much for Dong Enyu to bear!
“Shit!” Yong Le cursed as she opened the door.
“Damn typhoon.
Luckily, this house is sturdy.
I’m going out for a bit, I’ll be back soon, don’t miss me too much.” She threw a flirtatious glance back before leaving in the wind and rain, but Dong Enyu never looked at her once.
It wasn’t until Yong Le left that Dong Enyu opened her eyes.
As Yong Le said, the typhoon was passing through, and even through the walls, she could feel the strong wind and rain outside.
She knew Yong Le was going down the mountain to meet the “mastermind” because half an hour ago, Yong Le received the first phone call in two days, which was also Dong Enyu’s only chance to escape.
She didn’t know how much time she had.
The only thought in her mind was to escape! She had to escape!
Dong Enyu struggled to move her fingers, barely managing some response.
To maintain a certain level of agility, she deliberately reduced her desire for food.
As long as she drank less of the sedative-laced mineral water, she could stay more alert.
Although she couldn’t avoid being drugged, Dong Enyu skillfully held the pills in her mouth and spat them out when Yong Le wasn’t paying attention.
The strong wind made the windows creak, covering the sound of Dong Enyu crawling on the ground.
She dragged her paralyzed body, using all her strength to crawl forward.
The small cabin wasn’t big, and when she reached the door, she gritted her teeth and stood up.
Like a child learning to walk, her limbs, paralyzed for two days, were extremely uncoordinated.
Dong Enyu tried to turn the doorknob, a simple action that took her two tries to succeed…
When the door swung open, the heavy rain made Dong Enyu’s escape even more difficult.
But she couldn’t care less.
The woman walked outside with unsteady steps.
She wanted to run, but her legs wouldn’t cooperate, and even taking two or three steps took her several seconds.
The rain soaked her completely, and the heavy, wet clothes hindered her movement.
The muddy ground made Dong Enyu fall face-first, but she had to escape!
Falling and getting up, getting up and falling again, repeatedly, left Dong Enyu covered in injuries… When she saw a flash of light through the dark forest, she almost despaired.
Yong Le… it was Yong Le… Dong Enyu bit her lip in frustration, her mind urging her legs to move faster, but she suddenly fell, rolling into a small pit filled with muddy water.
Face down, she got a mouthful of mud, her knees and arms completely scraped, the stinging pain and fear overwhelming her thoughts, making her unusually calm.
The sound of boots stepping through puddles approached Dong Enyu.
Finally, she was lifted by a force.
“Well, look at you, rolling down the hill and getting yourself in this state, aren’t you afraid of being eaten by a bear?” Yong Le effortlessly carried the woman back to the cabin.
It was only a two-minute walk, showing how slim Dong Enyu’s chances of escape were.
Once inside, Yong Le stripped Dong Enyu of all her clothes and removed her own wet clothes.
Although it was summer, the night of the typhoon was cool, especially in the mountains, making Dong Enyu shiver.
This subtle movement naturally caught Yong Le’s eye.
Yong Le took a towel to dry herself and was about to clean Dong Enyu’s muddy body and wounds when the woman moved away.
“Aren’t you going to extort? How long do you plan to keep me here?” Dong Enyu closed one eye, water dripping down her cheek like tears.
Yong Le pulled Dong Enyu’s arm, letting her lean against her chest, and used a towel to dry her hair and body.
“You’re right, they must be like ants on a hot pan, not finding you these days,” Yong Le said calmly, without her usual arrogance.
She laid Dong Enyu on the spring bed, took a first aid kit from her backpack, and carefully treated Dong Enyu’s scrapes.
“Who do you think I should extort?” The smell of disinfectant filled the room as Yong Le covered the larger wounds with cotton cloth and asked Dong Enyu, “Who do you think would pay six million to save your life?” She let the woman answer, but to Dong Enyu, it sounded like mockery…
Six million… such a high amount, who would be willing? Even Dong Enyu herself wasn’t sure who would come to save her.
“Alright, let me ask differently, who do you hope will save you?” Yong Le tossed the cotton cloth aside and lifted Dong Enyu’s face.
Who do you hope will save you? In Yong Le’s red eyes, something seemed to flicker, but Dong Enyu was speechless.
The silent confrontation lasted for five minutes before Dong Enyu slowly spoke… “Huo Ai.” She pronounced the name clearly.
She wanted Yong Le to call Huo Ai, to have Huo Ai come to ransom her, because Huo Ai was her supervisor, the only person she could rely on.
And today was the day Huo Ai returned to the country…
“Let her come, she won’t leave me to die.” Dong Enyu’s voice trembled as she said this because she wasn’t confident… Yong Le saw Dong Enyu’s hesitation but said nothing more.
She got up, put on her clothes, and only covered Dong Enyu with a blanket.
“You really trust her.” Before leaving the cabin, Yong Le turned back with a faint smile and went outside to make a call.
Trust her? Trust Huo Ai? Dong Enyu lay on her back, staring at the mottled ceiling.
She wanted to scream, “Who would trust her?” but she could only swallow the words.
Besides Huo Ai, who else could she trust? Who else would save her? Six million wasn’t six hundred, nor sixty yuan.
Dong Enyu wasn’t sure if her life was worth six million…
Only because Huo Ai was her nominal supervisor, her partner… How the conversation went, Dong Enyu didn’t know.
She only knew the rain outside was heavy, the pitter-patter making her anxious.
About thirty minutes later, Yong Le returned to the room with her wet red hair.
She casually put down her phone, pulled a chair to sit facing Dong Enyu.
“Do you want to know the result?” Yong Le tucked the stray hair behind her ear, revealing her delicate face.
Dong Enyu lay on the bed, slowly closing her eyes.
She felt the spring bed sink slightly, the blanket being pulled away, followed by the sound of clothes rustling.
When a cool hand touched her abdomen, Dong Enyu opened her eyes, only to see darkness.
Yong Le had turned off the flashlight at some point.
“I’ll let you go back tomorrow,” Yong Le said, pressing down on Dong Enyu, greedily kissing her lips.
“Just keep me company tonight, okay?” She lifted the woman’s limp hand to wrap around her neck, but Dong Enyu was too tired to exert any strength, so her hands fell back down.
“No.” That was her response, no.
But refusal was useless because Yong Le never considered Dong Enyu’s opinion.
… That night, Dong Enyu was blindfolded and ravished by Yong Le over and over again.
Until the next day, the blindfold was not removed.
She bit her lips to avoid letting Yong Le hear her voice.
She resisted, making her scrapes even worse.
The whole night of struggle almost left her body falling apart.
In a daze, she felt herself being lifted again, this time not by car, but by walking a distance.
There was no more sound of rain, replaced by the sound of boots stepping through puddles… The air was filled with a refreshing scent, the morning forest was so quiet that even breathing could be heard clearly.
Dong Enyu didn’t know where she was being taken, only that she heard the loud sound of an iron door opening, then she was placed on the ground, and Yong Le chained her hands to a post.
Now, escape was impossible… “Want a cigarette?” Yong Le exhaled, asking casually.
Dong Enyu stubbornly refused to respond.
Click! The sound of a lighter igniting was particularly piercing… “I’ve received the payment,” Yong Le gradually walked away, apparently on the phone, “I’ve brought the person to the transaction location… don’t worry, she’s still breathing…” The voice grew fainter, and eventually, Dong Enyu heard nothing.
She wasn’t particularly hopeful for someone to save her, but it was better than being imprisoned by Yong Le.
A few minutes later, Yong Le returned to Dong Enyu’s side, stepping through the puddles.
“What a pity, this time it’s a single ticket, can’t take you with me,” Yong Le squatted down, leaned in for a kiss at the corner of Dong Enyu’s mouth, and said lightly before leaving, “I’ll miss you.” With that, Yong Le closed the iron door again, the loud clang startling and piercing, making Dong Enyu tense all over.
Yong Le was gone… Finally, she was alone… Silence, except for the sound of breathing, Dong Enyu heard nothing.
Suddenly, overwhelming fatigue washed over her, whether it was the lingering effects of the drugs or her nearly collapsed emotions over the past few days, Dong Enyu’s eyes, covered by the blindfold, slowly closed.
She released her tightly pressed lips, trying her best to empty her mind, letting the intense pain wash over her body, unwilling to revisit the pain in her heart.
Tired, just sleep.
Dong Enyu murmured to herself, unknowingly losing consciousness.
When she came to, her ears were no longer filled with silence but with incongruous noise, the sound of police cars and ambulances, many people moving around, and police communicating with each other over radios.
Finally, Dong Enyu realized her hands were untied, now hanging weakly at her sides.
Then, medical personnel took a stretcher and lifted her.
In an instant, a warm hand held hers, tightly, firmly.
Her heart softened, and Dong Enyu felt like she had grasped a piece of driftwood in the vast ocean, instinctively and with effort, she returned the grip.
Whether it was a trick of the mind or her head was in a muddle, she vaguely felt that the person instantly tightened their grip… bringing a sense of reassurance.
