What is Stray Cat Strut about?
The story takes place in 2057. Corporations control a world with a large gap between rich and poor. Catherine, usually called Cat, is an orphan with little money. An alien invasion adds another threat to her life.
The author’s series page lists action, progression, cyberpunk, and LitRPG among its tags. It also identifies the series as ongoing. Choose it when you want a continuing speculative adventure. Do not expect to finish the whole story in one short volume.

What does the opening show?
In Chapter One: Pop-Up, Cat and Lucy help supervise children on a museum visit in New Montreal. Cat narrates in the first person. Her blunt comments and frequent swearing establish the tone early.
The city already feels hostile before the invasion begins. Corporate publicity shapes the outing. Cat’s implanted equipment fills her vision with unwanted adverts. A service robot cannot adapt its instructions to her missing arm.
These scenes make the opening a useful sample. You can check whether you enjoy Cat’s anger, the humour, and the way technology affects ordinary tasks. You do not need to read dozens of chapters to make that first decision.
How should GL readers approach it?
The lesbian romance tag gives you a clear reason to consider the series. However, a tag does not tell you how much space romance receives in each chapter. Action and relationship scenes can have different roles in the same book.
If your next read must focus mainly on courtship, read a sample before choosing this one. If you want a female-led adventure that also includes lesbian romance, the official tags fit that search. Save your place with both the volume and chapter title. A long serial can use the same chapter number again when a new volume starts. Read the opening chapter first, then continue to Chapter Two if Cat’s voice suits you.
