Black Lily’s Tale on Switch: An English Yuri Guide

Two adult women in plum and ivory coats face each other on a city street with sunset and moonlit reflections.

Black Lily’s Tale has an English-language Nintendo Switch edition. Nintendo’s Singapore listing gives a release date of 29 October 2026. For Yuri and Girls’ Love readers, the main appeal is a romance caught in a repeated day. The player must take part in the story to help change its course.

This is a visual novel game, rather than a prose light novel. This guide covers the official story description and Switch edition details. It does not assess the full game or reveal its endings.

A confession caught in a time loop

Hana Sasamori is close to graduation when the same day begins to repeat. She has feelings for Itsuki, a girl who once helped her. Hana tries to suppress those feelings, while a curse keeps her from moving forward.

The setting has a serious past. A fictional epidemic changed society before the main story begins. The school setting therefore sits beside a larger story of loss and survival. Do not choose this title only because its artwork looks gentle.

For a GL reader, the useful question is whether you want romance with a mystery to solve. A repeated day can make a familiar meeting matter in a new way. Here, the official premise ties that repetition to feelings Hana cannot easily express.

You must do more than turn the page

The official Nintendo listing describes two ways to act: interrupt choices and enter words. These actions help guide the story toward its outcome. Expect to read closely and respond, rather than let every scene continue without input.

This distinction matters if you are new to visual novels. A game with text can still ask you to work out what to do. If you prefer a fixed story, our Her Love, Like Poison guide covers a Yuri visual novel with no story choices.

What the Switch edition includes

Nintendo lists English among the supported languages. It also lists a Switch-exclusive after-story and all DLC scenarios. The game supports one player and TV, tabletop, and handheld modes.

For a first-time player, start with the main story. An after-story is better left until you know the events it follows. Avoid detailed searches for that extra section if you want to keep the main plot a surprise.

If you already own another version, compare the listed extras before you buy again. English support alone does not tell you whether text, controls, or other features differ between editions. This guide uses the Singapore listing; check the store for your own region.

Check these details before you start

Read the language list and content information on the exact edition you plan to buy. A language listing does not establish English voice acting. Also check the age rating and any specific content notes. Our guide to content warnings without spoilers explains how to ask about a theme without requesting the ending.

Choose Black Lily’s Tale if its mix of GL romance, repeated days, and player input interests you. Open the official listing, check your regional edition, and leave the route guides closed for your first attempt.
