Futari Escape follows two adult women who look for small ways to get away from work and daily pressures. Shouichi Taguchi writes and draws the manga. Seven Seas publishes the English edition, which ends at Volume 4.
Try it if you want Yuri with shared outings, comic escapes, and a short reading commitment. Its premise includes sudden trips, but the focus also covers ordinary time together.
A manga artist and her girlfriend need a break
Kouhai works as a manga artist. Senpai is unemployed. The Seven Seas series description identifies Senpai as her girlfriend and places the series under Romance, Slice of Life, and Yuri.
Work and money give the pair reasons to escape their routine. Their plans include an unplanned trip and spending too much on a meal. The humour starts with familiar adult problems, then follows what they do to avoid them.
The publisher describes a comedy about trips and smaller pleasures. Choose it for the pair’s time together rather than a route through named tourist sites.
Choose it for everyday escapes and an adult couple
Kouhai’s creative work gives her a different schedule from Senpai. Their attempts to spend time together offer an adult setting for the comedy. If you want a break from school romances, try Volume 1.
Expect comedy about avoiding responsibilities. The premise includes overspending and debt, so “relaxing” does not mean that the characters have no problems. Their attempts to take a break supply the comic situations.
Seven Seas rates the manga Teen (13+). An adult cast does not automatically mean an adults-only book. If you want more stories about working women or established relationships, our adult Yuri reading list gives four other starting points.
The English series ends at Volume 4
Read Volumes 1 to 4 in numerical order. The publisher marks Volume 4 as the final volume. Its English release date was 26 December 2023. As checked on 12 October 2026, all four listed release dates are in the past.
That makes this a practical choice if you prefer a series with a known endpoint. You can plan for four books instead of waiting for an unannounced conclusion. Check current stock separately; a past release date does not confirm that a shop has a copy.
Start with the first English volume
Futari Escape Volume 1 has 146 pages. Seven Seas lists its release date as 15 November 2022 and its print ISBN as 9781638585688. Use that ISBN when you ask a bookshop or library for the English edition.
The publisher provides print and digital retailer links. Check the language, format, and regional availability on the retailer page. If a sample is available, use it to see whether the comedy and panel style suit you before buying the full set.
This is a manga choice for GL readers. If you want prose instead, our A Lily Blooms in Another World guide covers a complete, single-volume Yuri light novel.
