“No way, did I sleepwalk and kill all of them?” This area, ravaged by black magic, was clearly her handiwork, which meant the dream she had last night was real.
She’d gone out in the middle of the night and ran into patrolling knights.
They thought she was some dark cultist and attacked her, so Chen Xing wiped them all out and even turned them into creepy statues.
After figuring all this out, Chen Xing didn’t feel guilty at all.
She was just confused—did she really sleepwalk? “You remember now?” Freya walked up to Chen Xing.
She didn’t dare be too rude, but her tone was still a bit accusatory.
“I just had a dream.
I dreamed they attacked me, so I…” Chen Xing shrugged helplessly, but Freya immediately shot back, “Attacked you? You just showed up out of nowhere, they asked who you were, and you didn’t say a word before attacking them!”
“Really? Well, if you say so…” Chen Xing nodded.
She wasn’t sure if Freya was telling the truth, but either way, what’s done is done.
At least there was still one survivor, which was lucky.
“Sleepwalking? Hah… I can’t believe I actually sleepwalk.”
After two dreams like this, Chen Xing could pretty much guess that she did things unconsciously after falling asleep.
In that state, her body was controlled by pure instinct, so she ended up… a bit ruthless.
“Looks like the me in my dreams is the real witch.”
Chen Xing asked herself: if she didn’t have a reason to kill those knights, she’d probably hesitate for a long time, and she wouldn’t be so cruel about it.
But in witch mode, she didn’t hold back at all—didn’t matter if they were strong or weak, man or woman, she killed them all and turned them into beautiful statues.
“Sigh… I wonder if that last girl saw it was me.
Maybe I should just send her to join her friends.”
As she said this, Chen Xing raised her hand.
Freya thought she was about to kill the last survivor and immediately jumped up to block her in front of Lidi Xi.
Chen Xing shot her a look, then cast a spell.
A black hole appeared in her palm, and the black snow around them seemed to be sucked in by a huge force, instantly lifting off the ground and gathering in Chen Xing’s hand.
She wanted to erase any trace of the witch’s presence.
Chen Xing definitely didn’t want anyone to know she’d been here.
After finishing up, Chen Xing withdrew her hand and said calmly, “Let’s go.
We’ve still got a ways to go, and this woman is still useful.
I won’t kill her for now.”
Without those knights slowing them down, Chen Xing and the others traveled much faster.
In half a day, they reached a human town.
A city in the snow, covered in silver, with castles and walls, all medieval-looking.
But those were places only nobles could live in.
The commoners had to make do with little wooden shacks.
Only the city center had a castle.
The outskirts were all wooden houses, trash thrown everywhere.
If it weren’t for the cold, there’d be insects, plague, and a horrible stench everywhere.
Walking down the street, Chen Xing and her group didn’t attract any attention.
People here had no energy to notice outsiders.
Even in thick cotton clothes, they couldn’t keep out the cold.
In some corners, a few kids huddled together for warmth, already frozen to death.
Chen Xing saw a lot of these human ice sculptures after entering the city.
As someone from modern times, she was a bit surprised, but she didn’t show any sympathy.
“Why… is it like this?” Freya, on the other hand, was confused.
She didn’t understand why humans didn’t help each other, just watching kids freeze to death.
“Is it because the witch came back, and the evil in people’s hearts returned too?”
“…Come on, don’t blame everything on me, okay?” That made Chen Xing lose it.
What did the lack of compassion here have to do with her? Seriously, people would blame anything bad on the witch.
“Sis… I’m hungry, can you give me some money?” Suddenly, a group of little kids surrounded them, chattering away.
They saw Chen Xing was a stranger, so maybe she’d give them something? Little Dragon Girl wanted to stop them, but Chen Xing gave her a look and she backed off.
The kids crowded around her.
Chen Xing figured she’d give them some money so they could buy something to eat.
But just then, Chen Xing clearly felt someone’s hand slip into her clothes, probably looking for her wallet.
“Ah—!” With a scream, a little boy collapsed in pain, clutching his arm, which had been twisted at a right angle.
“Hmph, what honest folk~”
“Master, these brats dared to touch your noble body.
Want me to kill them?”
“No need.
They won’t survive the night.” Chen Xing shook her head, and her words made Little Dragon Girl a bit confused.
“Won’t survive the night?” She muttered, then realized—Master must mean that when she falls asleep tonight and the darkness takes over, everyone here will die.
Looks like it won’t take many more times before the darkness completely takes over Master!
“Let’s find an inn and get some rest.”
As they walked deeper into the city, the streets got noticeably cleaner, and there were no more beggars or orphans.
Chen Xing and the others picked a random inn and checked in.
“Man, I’m beat~” As soon as they got into the room, Chen Xing didn’t wait for anyone else and flopped onto the big bed.
“Witches can get tired?”
“I’m just too lazy to walk, that’s all.” Lying on the bed, Chen Xing crossed her legs.
A black tentacle slipped out from her clothes and, before Freya could react, wrapped around her and pulled her over to Chen Xing’s side.
“What are you doing now?” Freya was already used to the witch’s antics.
“Helping you heal.
I hurt you pretty badly, you know.
I feel really guilty.” Chen Xing’s hand roamed freely over Freya’s body.
Wherever her fingers touched, wounds healed instantly.
“Ugh! Can you… not do it like this? It feels… weird… ah.”
The feeling of being touched, plus the strange itch as her wounds healed, made Freya tense up, blushing and panting.
“Do you like it?”
“N-no, I don’t!”
“That’s kind of heartbreaking~” Chen Xing kept teasing Freya, which made Little Dragon Girl furious!
“Master! I want to abandon the darkness and embrace the light!”
“What the hell is wrong with you!?”
“Hmph, now that I think about it, the closest I ever was to Master was thousands of years ago, when you corrupted me.
You were so nice to me then, every day I was wrapped in your tenderness.
But now… ever since I became the Dark Dragon, you barely pay attention to me.
I don’t want the darkness anymore!”
