The main pavilion wasn’t very big—at least, not big compared to those lavish, palatial halls.
Aside from the walls, almost all the furniture and doors inside were made of the same kind of wood. It was a strange material; up close you could smell a faint, refreshing fragrance. It was sturdy too, impervious to worms.

The interior was spotless. Under the bed, beneath the table, every corner and nook had been cleaned so thoroughly there wasn’t a speck of dust left. Whoever lived here clearly liked cleanliness and was very meticulous...
