My VTuber Rival Is Actually Cute?!: Yuri Demo Guide

Two adult women exchange smiles in a convention atrium lit with violet and warm coral light.

My VTuber Rival is Actually Cute?! is an upcoming Yuri visual novel from Studio Élan. You play a female streamer who meets her online rival at a convention. A free demo is available, while the full game remains marked “Coming soon” on Steam.

The setup may suit GL readers who enjoy romantic comedy about mistaken first impressions. This guide covers the creator’s published details, checked on 6 October 2026. It does not review a completed playthrough or promise a release date.

Meet the person behind your online rival

The protagonist is a rising independent VTuber. A VTuber uses a virtual character to appear on screen while streaming. At a convention party, she gets along with someone before she realises that she has met her biggest online rival.

The official creator page names the love interest Anne and her online identity Angelilyca. The romance starts with a gap between the person the protagonist expects and the woman she meets.

Studio Élan describes the story as a short, comfortable slice-of-life romance. It lists one love interest for the planned game. It does not establish the number of endings or confirm which choices change the plot.

Use the demo to test the character settings

The creator estimates that the demo takes less than an hour. It introduces Anne and lets you adjust the female protagonist, her streaming preferences, and the in-game text box. Reading time will depend on your pace and time spent with those settings.

For the full game, the studio lists customisation of both the protagonist’s virtual character and her in-person design. Treat those as planned features. The demo description does not promise every setting that the finished game will contain.

Try the text box options before a longer reading session. Check whether dialogue is clear at your usual screen size. Then read the opening to decide whether the convention setting and Anne’s exchanges hold your interest.

This guide has not tested save transfer, every character option, or the complete set of story choices. Do not assume that a demo save will continue in the final release.

Check the download for your computer

The creator’s itch.io page has separate demo files for Windows and Linux, and for macOS. Choose the file marked for your system. These are desktop downloads; the page does not list an Android or iOS edition.

The Steam listing also has a demo download section and marks English interface support. Its current page warns that the product is not compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina or later.

The itch.io Mac download does not resolve that warning. The two listings do not establish that the demo will work on your particular Mac. Check the creator’s current compatibility information before installation. This guide has not tested either build.

Keep the demo and full release separate

Steam currently lists the full game as unavailable, with “Coming soon” in the release-date field. The planned story has more than 30,000 words. That figure describes the full game, not the short demo.

You can follow the project now, but the store page gives no calendar date to plan around. Recheck it before treating a social announcement or campaign milestone as a finished release.

For a different GL visual novel that already has a full release, see our UsoNatsu guide. If you prefer a fixed story with no dialogue choices, our My Darling Dark Elf guide covers that format.

Start with the official demo page. Check your system, try the character settings, and read the first meeting before deciding whether to follow the full game.
