After leaving the dormitory, Bai Ling and Lin Qiufeng went their separate ways.
Lin Qiufeng was heading to the classroom, while Bai Ling needed to find Zitong again.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
“Teacher Zitong, I’m here.”
“Mm!” Zitong’s voice came from inside, getting closer.
The door opened, and Zitong stepped out, giving Bai Ling a slight smile.
“Let’s go, I’ll take you to the classroom!” With that, she led the way toward the classroom.
“Okay!” Bai Ling responded and quickly followed.
Inside a classroom in the teaching building, the students were bustling and noisy.
All kinds of voices spilled out into the hallway.
There were so many people talking, and the volume varied so much, that it was impossible to make out any one voice clearly.
The classroom was arranged so that the front row of desks and chairs was lower than the row behind it, and so on, forming a stepped layout.
But it didn’t take long for the noise to gradually die down, all because someone walked in through the front door of the classroom.
This person wasn’t tall, dressed in a teacher’s uniform.
She walked in calmly, saying nothing, but exuded a magical pressure that only mages could sense.
So, as soon as she appeared, the noise in the classroom faded away, replaced by countless gazes.
This was Zitong.
She’d already heard the ruckus these little brats were making from outside the classroom.
Besides, she wasn’t here to listen to them make noise—she was here to teach.
So she turned to Bai Ling behind her and said, “Wait until I call you in.”
Bai Ling obediently replied, “Okay!” and waited in place for Zitong to call her name.
She walked into the classroom, stood at the podium, and in just a few seconds, the noise faded away.
During those few seconds, Zitong simply released her A-rank magical pressure, making the students all nervous and on edge.
Seeing the students quietly watching her, Zitong smiled slightly.
“Today, our class is welcoming a new student.
She arrived yesterday, but for various reasons, she missed yesterday’s class, so I’m introducing her to everyone today.”
With that, Zitong called out toward the door, “Xiao Ling, you can come in now.”
Hearing Zitong call her, Bai Ling stepped into the classroom.
No one knew what she was feeling at that moment—there was happiness, excitement, anxiety, and confusion, all swirling in her heart.
She’d never been to a place like this, not even in her previous life.
So she felt lost and uncertain, not knowing if she could get along with her classmates.
She really wanted friends, but she also longed for a place like this.
That’s why she was both excited and happy.
At the same time, she had no idea what her new classmates thought about having a new student.
The boys, of course, hoped the newcomer would be a pretty girl, while the girls hoped for a handsome guy.
Some students didn’t care at all and just kept doing their own thing.
But to the girls’ disappointment, the one who walked in was a beautiful girl.
A white women’s student shirt, black jacket, a black bow at her chest, and a pure black pleated skirt—this uniform only served to highlight her charm.
Add to that her natural elegance and beauty, and she was sure to win the favor of these teenagers in their prime.
Seeing a pretty girl walk in, the boys’ eyes lit up, like hungry wolves spotting a delicious meal.
Bai Ling looked at her classmates, a bit at a loss, not understanding why they were making those faces.
She felt a little nervous—was there something wrong with the way she entered? That couldn’t be right; her entrance seemed fine.
Though she was confused, Bai Ling still walked up to the podium and stood next to Zitong.
Zitong also noticed the boys’ leering looks.
For someone as experienced as her, this was nothing—she understood it at a glance.
After all, even she was a little jealous of how beautiful Bai Ling was.
Though a bit helpless, Zitong still had to quiet the class.
She naturally released her magical pressure again.
In less than three seconds, the classroom was silent once more.
Seeing everyone quiet down, Zitong gave a faint smile.
“Heh, just a bunch of kids.” Then she turned to Bai Ling and said, “Xiao Ling, you can introduce yourself now.”
“Oh!”
“Um~ Hello, everyone? My name is Bai Ling.”
The classroom, which had just quieted down, erupted in noise again.
It wasn’t for any other reason—Bai Ling’s soft voice had touched the hearts of these teenagers.
The renewed commotion made Zitong frown slightly, and she released her magical pressure again, this time even stronger than before.
The students all looked at her in fear, but Zitong seemed to enjoy it, the smile on her lips growing wider.
“Alright, now that the introduction is over, Xiao Ling, go sit next to Lin Qiufeng!” She pointed to where Lin Qiufeng was sitting.
“?” Bai Ling was a little surprised.
Was this Lin Qiufeng the same one from the dorm? Out of curiosity, Bai Ling looked in the direction Zitong pointed and saw a smiling face and Lin Qiufeng waving at her.
‘Uh, it really is her? What a coincidence! Could it be that Teacher Zitong arranged both my dorm and my seat? Now that I think about it, it really seems that way!’ Bai Ling raised her delicate hand and waved back at Lin Qiufeng, returning the greeting, then walked over to her.
When the boys heard Bai Ling would be sitting next to Lin Qiufeng, they all deflated like punctured balls, though they were also relieved she wasn’t sitting next to some other guy.
Bai Ling greeted her as she sat down, “We meet again.”
“Yeah! We meet again, and we’re even desk mates.
Don’t you think this is fate?” Lin Qiufeng said, covering her mouth as she laughed.
Once Bai Ling was seated, Zitong finally began her lesson.
The class passed quickly.
This lesson was just about some basic knowledge of magic and its applications.
Before class ended, Zitong told everyone to get ready, because next class they’d be awakening their magic and taking a talent test.
Magic awakening, as the name suggests, is when you awaken your magic and find out what type of mage you are.
The talent test is to see what level your magic is at when you first awaken.
