Before Fia even had time to blink, the scene before her shifted from an open courtyard to a red-tiled rooftop. A humanoid being appeared directly in front of her, its entire body shrouded in black gauze, with only a pair of eyes visible. The term was deliberate: the creature possessed broad, dragonlike wings and goat horns that curled backward. Its wings were covered in a conspicuous layer of silver scales that reflected a metallic sheen. It was clearly not human.
A demon—or some other creature.
Whatever it was, Fia would capture it first and worry about the rest later.
