The volume numbers are easy to miss when you search for a short title such as MATE. This guide identifies the two listings, explains the published premise, and shows what to check before you buy. What is MATE about?
Genlong has money, confidence, and high expectations. She wants a partner who meets her standards. Her childhood friend Aoey does not fit that picture, but Genlong finds herself drawn to her.
The author’s MATE 1 listing presents the premise in Genlong’s voice. She describes herself with pride, then struggles to explain why Aoey affects her so much. Her attraction to a female friend unsettles her expectations of both love and herself.
The premise follows a change from a familiar friendship to romantic feelings. Meb places the book in its Girl Love / Yuri Novel category. You do not need to infer the genre from the cover alone.
The short description does not establish how soon the two become a couple, how the relationship develops, or how the story ends. Read the two English volumes in order
Meb’s English series page lists two books. Begin with MATE 1, even if the store displays MATE 2 first. A product’s position on a page is not its reading order.
MATE 1 lists 416 pages and about 67,905 words. MATE 2 lists 368 pages and about 60,748 words. Each listing gives 25 February 2023 as its publication date. These are existing English releases, not new release announcements.
Keep the volume number and the words “English version” in your reading list. Also check the author name, Chao Pla Noy, and the publisher name, เจ้าปลาน้อย. This helps you distinguish the English ebooks from Thai editions and unrelated books called Mate.
Check the sample and reading format
Both product pages offer a Get Sample button and list PDF and EPUB formats. Start with the sample for volume one to check the English prose and opening voice. A plot description cannot tell you whether you will enjoy the translation’s sentence style.
