In the early morning, the sunlight spread across the land, its golden rays reminding all living things that a new day had begun.
Inside a bamboo house, a beautiful young girl was nestled in the arms of another beautiful woman, sleeping soundly.
Looking at the sleeping girl in her arms, Han Rubing’s lips curled into a faint, happy smile.
“Having this little one by my side is so nice, even sleeping feels more restful.” She gently caressed the girl’s cheek, her eyes full of affection.
But then, as if remembering something, the affection in her eyes vanished.
The hand that was gently caressing Meng Xiaoyu’s cheek turned into a pinch, and she said while pinching, “You little troublemaker, always causing me worry, going around charming people.
Now you’ve even charmed two troublesome people over.
I really want to tie you to the bed forever, so you can’t go around charming others.” Han Rubing said this softly while pinching Meng Xiaoyu’s cheek.
However, due to the exhaustion from the previous night, the deeply asleep Meng Xiaoyu couldn’t hear Han Rubing’s words.
In her sleep, she merely brushed away Han Rubing’s hand from her cheek and snuggled closer into Han Rubing’s embrace, burying her face between Han Rubing’s firm breasts before settling down to continue her peaceful sleep.
Seeing Meng Xiaoyu’s series of actions, Han Rubing couldn’t help but chuckle silently.
“It seems this little one was really worn out by Shuang’er yesterday.
I was pinching her just now, and she didn’t even wake up.” With this thought, Han Rubing glanced at the empty space beside Meng Xiaoyu, her thoughts drifting back to the previous day after she had finished talking with Nangong Yunhan and Ling Yuer.
She had come to the room where her sister and the little one were sleeping.
Upon entering, she saw the two of them lying on the bed, with the little one already nestled in her sister’s arms, fast asleep.
Her sister was holding the little one tightly, gazing at her sleeping face with deep affection.
When Han Rubing noticed her standing at the door, Han Rushuang called out “sister” and then said nothing more.
Instead, she pulled the thin blanket over herself and the little one, covering their bare bodies.
Then, she moved closer to the inside of the bed, making room for Han Rubing, just like before when the little one hadn’t left.
The three of them squeezed onto one bed, with Shuang’er sleeping inside, the little one in the middle, and Han Rubing on the outside.
Seeing her sister’s familiar actions, Han Rubing didn’t know what to say.
Many things had changed now.
The little one was no longer just theirs; there were two others who loved the little one deeply, and the little one might love them too.
Han Rubing didn’t know how to tell Han Rushuang that everything was different now.
The little one had other lovers besides them, and those two had made it clear that they wouldn’t let go of the little one’s hand unless they were killed.
Han Rubing knew she couldn’t kill them because if she did, she and her sister might lose the little one forever.
But that wasn’t the most troubling thing for Han Rubing.
The most troubling thing was that Nangong Yunhan and Ling Yuer had clearly stated that they didn’t mind sharing the little one to avoid making things difficult for her.
They had seriously asked her to discuss it with Shuang’er and consider their proposal.
But was there even a need to consider it? It was utterly ridiculous.
How could they come up with the idea of sharing the little one? The little one wasn’t a man, where having multiple wives and concubines was common.
Even if the little one were a man, Han Rubing couldn’t share her with others.
But Han Rubing had no other choice.
She couldn’t kill those two, and it was impossible to make them give up the little one voluntarily.
Even the clever Han Rubing didn’t know what to do now.
Sighing, Han Rubing took off her outer garment and got into bed in her underclothes.
The bed here wasn’t as big as the one in the inn.
It was just right for two people, but adding a third made it cramped.
So Han Rubing and Han Rushuang lay on their sides, while Meng Xiaoyu curled up in Han Rushuang’s arms.
Seeing her sister lying on the bed, wanting to speak but holding back, Han Rushuang didn’t ask anything.
She knew what her sister had discussed with Nangong Yunhan and could roughly guess the outcome.
Seeing her sister’s expression now, Han Rushuang was even more certain of her guess.
Even so, Han Rushuang didn’t say anything.
Instead, she tightened her arms around Meng Xiaoyu’s waist, kissed her forehead lightly, and made a decision in her heart.
No matter what, she wouldn’t let the little one leave her side again.
She never wanted to experience the heart-wrenching longing again.
With these thoughts, Han Rushuang gradually felt sleepy.
She was very tired.
She hadn’t rested much while searching for Meng Xiaoyu, especially after the exhausting activity earlier.
Now that her beloved Yuer was sleeping peacefully in her arms, her long-tense nerves finally relaxed, and fatigue and drowsiness swept over her.
So, holding Meng Xiaoyu, she soon fell asleep.
Watching her sister sleep with Meng Xiaoyu in her arms, Han Rubing couldn’t help but smile bitterly and shake her head.
She didn’t know whether to say her sister was too unaware of the crisis or had too much faith in her.
Nangong Yunhan and Ling Yuer weren’t easy to deal with.
She had tried many ways to make them give up the little one, but none had worked.
Now, even she was at her wit’s end.
“Why think so much? Anyway, the little one has been found.
I’ll find a way to make Nangong Yunhan and Ling Yuer back off later.
I definitely won’t agree to their ridiculous proposal of sharing the little one.” With this thought, Han Rubing wasn’t as conflicted as before.
She closed her eyes to sleep, as she was also very tired.
The next morning, Han Rushuang was the first to wake up.
Opening her eyes, the first thing she saw was Meng Xiaoyu’s innocent sleeping face.
Han Rushuang smiled slightly.
It felt so good.
Looking at the window where the sun hadn’t risen yet, Han Rushuang lowered her head and pecked Meng Xiaoyu’s soft lips twice before getting up.
She pulled her numb right arm from under Meng Xiaoyu, who was sleeping restlessly without it as a pillow, and gently pushed Meng Xiaoyu towards her sister’s arms. Then Han Rushuang saw Meng Xiaoyu, sensing Han Rubing’s presence, snuggle into Han Rubing’s embrace with her eyes closed.
Han Rubing naturally opened her arms in her sleep and held Meng Xiaoyu close.
Watching Meng Xiaoyu sleep soundly again and her sister’s slightly upturned lips, Han Rushuang felt a faint sense of happiness.
If only it could be like this forever.
After getting up, dressing, and leaving the inner room, Han Rubing, who was holding Meng Xiaoyu in her sleep, opened her eyes with a faint smile.
She had actually woken up when Han Rushuang got up but was too lazy to open her eyes.
When she felt Han Rushuang push the restless Meng Xiaoyu towards her, and the little one snuggled into her embrace sensing her presence, Han Rubing naturally held the little one close and lightly kissed the top of Meng Xiaoyu’s head.
Her sister hadn’t noticed any of this.
After Han Rubing sensed Han Rushuang leaving the inner room, she opened her eyes, tightened her hold on the person in her arms, and didn’t close her eyes to sleep again.
Instead, she kept watching the cute sleeping face of the person in her arms.
“Good morning, Miss Rushuang!” As soon as Han Rushuang stepped out of the room, she heard someone greet her.
Instinctively, she looked in the direction of the voice and saw Ling Yuer, dressed in a moon-white robe, smiling at her.
“Good morning, Miss Ling,” she replied flatly.
Hearing Han Rushuang respond, Ling Yuer was slightly surprised.
She had thought that with Han Rushuang’s cold nature, she wouldn’t respond.
So she hadn’t expected Han Rushuang to reply.
This surprised Ling Yuer a bit, but she still asked the reason she had been waiting outside Meng Xiaoyu’s room since early morning.
“Um, Miss Rushuang,” she said, and when Han Rushuang looked at her, Ling Yuer continued, “Is Xiaoyu still asleep?” This was why Ling Yuer had greeted Han Rushuang.
She hadn’t slept well the previous night, her mind filled with the enticing sounds she had heard from Meng Xiaoyu and the fear of losing her.
Although she and Nangong Yunhan had clearly stated they wouldn’t leave Meng Xiaoyu and hoped Han Rubing and her sister would agree to their proposal of sharing Meng Xiaoyu, she didn’t know what Han Rubing and her sister thought.
Although Han Rubing had said she would consider it, Ling Yuer hadn’t seen any sign of serious consideration in Han Rubing’s expression.
So, wanting to know their thoughts and eager to see Meng Xiaoyu, Ling Yuer had gotten up at the first light of dawn and waited not far from Meng Xiaoyu’s room, hoping to be the first thing Meng Xiaoyu saw when she opened the door.
But to her disappointment, it was Han Rushuang, the one who had made her jealous all night, who opened the door.
