UsoNatsu: English Demo and GL Story Guide

Two adult women in plum and lavender clothing smile at each other beside a river under flowering trees at sunset.

UsoNatsu ~The Summer Romance Bloomed From A Lie~ is a released Girls’ Love visual novel by LYCORIS, published by Sekai Project. It follows two classmates who want to move beyond different parts of their past. The Steam edition has English text and a free demo.

If you enjoy Yuri stories where a new relationship starts before old feelings are settled, the premise may interest you. This guide covers the official description and edition details checked on 4 October 2026. It is not a review of a completed playthrough.

Two classmates with different reasons to move on

Tachibana Kaoru attends a high school in the seaside town of Minatocho. Her classmate Minagi Shiori sees her after a painful encounter with Shimotsuki Mirei, Kaoru’s former teacher and first crush. Kaoru then tells Shiori about that part of her past.

Shiori has a different problem. She has spent so much time trying to match her older brother’s achievements that she no longer knows what she wants for herself. She asks Kaoru to help her leave that pressure behind.

The two revisit Shiori’s memories together. Their reasons for doing so are not the same: Kaoru wants distance from a romantic attachment, while Shiori wants distance from an ideal she has tried to meet. A third classmate, Inohara Riku, has feelings for Shiori, which adds another complication.

The official Steam description combines comedy with romantic drama. That does not establish how the relationships end. You can check the opening without looking up an ending summary.

English text, with Japanese voice acting

This edition is a visual novel, not an English prose ebook. You read the story on screen with character art, backgrounds, and music. The developer also lists animated characters and a gallery for story illustrations.

The language table confirms English interface text and subtitles. Full audio is marked for Japanese, not English. Choose this version if you want to read in English while hearing the Japanese performances; do not buy it expecting an English dub.

For the broader difference between reading formats, see our Yuri light novel, manga, and anime guide. A shared title does not mean that every format gives you the same reading experience.

Read the content notes before the demo

The summer setting does not mean that every scene is light. The developer’s notice includes a romantic relationship between a student and a teacher, partial nudity, suggestive language, and alcohol and tobacco use. It also lists references to physical abuse, self-harm, and suicide.

These notes describe the game as a whole. They do not say which subjects appear in the demo or how much detail a scene contains. If one of these subjects is a firm limit for you, check it before you download.

Our Yuri content-warning guide explains how to ask about one concern without requesting the ending. You do not need to know every plot event to decide whether a story is suitable for you.

Try the demo before buying the full game

On the Steam page, use the separate demo download section. The full game is already released, so the demo is a sample of an available title rather than a preview of an unannounced release.

The listed system requirements are for Windows 10 or 11, with 8 GB of memory and 3 GB of storage. Check the complete requirements against your computer before installation. This guide has not tested other operating systems or demo progress transfer.

Use the demo to check text size, reading controls, and whether Kaoru and Shiori’s conversations hold your interest. If they do, return to the main game listing and confirm the current price for your region.

The featured image is original editorial art with adult characters. It does not depict the game’s students or official artwork.
