Xie Mingjun arrived at eight. Dong Yin’s workstation was empty, so Xie settled into the office chair and waited. Bored, she pulled a fountain pen from the drawer and toyed with it.
The pen had no ink in it. Its body was long, slender, and entirely black, without any special decoration. The only marking was the owner’s name stamped near the end.
The employees gradually arrived. Dong Yin’s workstation remained empty; she was the only one missing. Then, right at nine, she came running into the office.
Everyone was surprised. One of her coworkers...
