A gentle breeze drifted through the forest. The tender green leaves swayed overhead, stirring the scattered sunlight and sprinkling dappled light across the ground. Among the trees, the two figures looked exceptionally radiant.
But in that vast forest, the fleeting peace lasted no more than that. One group of demonic beasts soon fell, only for another to surge forward behind it, as if they could never be killed off.
By then, the air was thick with the stench of blood, which lingered and refused to disperse.
