“That’s not an element,” Lin Qiufeng said, “Teacher Zitong said it’s a system of its own, not part of the magic elements.

“I know.” Bai Ling answered with her eyes half-closed, still enjoying herself, not taking the magical beasts seriously at all.
“If you know, why are you so relaxed? What if a magical beast jumps out and eats you? Let’s see how you keep skipping around then.” Xu Wenjing was frustrated but helpless.
She didn’t know if Lin Qiufeng had any background, but Bai Ling was Bai Ting’s little sister, so she couldn’t really get mad.
She just had to hold it in.
She was starting to regret bringing these two into the magical beast forest.
“That’s what you’re here for!” Lin Qiufeng grinned awkwardly.
“Yeah.” Bai Ling nodded lightly.

After they’d gone about a mile in, they heard rustling in a patch of grass.

“What is it?” she whispered.
Soon, a small furry beast emerged from the grass.
It had a white face, two fangs over a foot long sticking out of its mouth—no doubt, if it bit you, you’d be in for a world of pain.
Its limbs were thick like barrels, its body short, only about 1.3 meters tall.
