The autumn morning breeze lifted the pure white curtains. Morning sunlight spilled into the room, and fresh air drifted into Fia’s nose, gradually rousing her from the sea of dreams.
Outside was both noisy and quiet. Noisy, because servants and imperial guards were dealing with the aftermath. Quiet, because whenever anyone passed the luxurious palace where the eldest princess resided, they unconsciously slowed their steps and softened their breathing.
