Warships patrolled the bay, while the Choir stationed along the shore had been ordered to monitor every ripple and rustle within a hundred-mile radius. The moment a giant appeared, they were to unleash long-range divine bombardment at once.
At first, no one noticed anything unusual.
The waves were a little bigger. The spray flew a little farther. None of that counted as strange.
But by the time the sharp-eyed realized that the waves were growing larger even though the sea breeze had not strengthened at all, it was already too late.
